Untangle 02:43
I went digging and I was pretending I didn't know what I would find Well I must have been looking for trouble that day Bored and restless Or just out of my mind Oh yeah Needed something to pick apart Tease out, try to untangle Something we could finally laugh about Cos you know there's always More than one angle Come on babe Take a look Here we are on our spinning circle Here's the slippery edge again Woah no And maybe I'll lose my grip this time And if I don't Well there's always pitfalls And darkness to get lost in Needed something to pick apart Tease out, try to untangle Yeah Something we could finally laugh about Cos you know there's always More than one angle You just gotta take a look Needed something to pick apart Tease out, try to untangle Mmm-yeah Something we could finally laugh about Cos you know know its good to try and see More than one angle You just gotta take a look

The moon mocking sister She said Go about your little life Choose the ones you’ll love and fight Verse1 - Ohhh oh just one of many hustled in there Sort it out as best you can Feeling blind And losing wrong and right Oh you can only hope you’ll shine Like this Verse 2 - Ohhh oh You just hope someone Will someday see you Hope they’ll hear The words you sing Hustled in How you ever sort it through Oh you must be a miracle seed Chorus - There’s always going to be An ending to the day And voices clamouring So much more to say All I’m looking for Is my place back in your heart Can we start again I’ll take your part

Walking downtown I got nothing too much I’m a worryin on A bit of carefree Not to take or leave it But don’t try to hang on It’s a balance You get it right Look up look out But never in too tight Let another one know There’s an up There’s an out Keep it there with a flow Oooh oooh oooh When there’s nothing on my mind Anything is possible Oooh oooh oooh When there’s nothing on our mind Every good thing I see I wanna show you Every good thing I hear I want you to listen to Every song that touches me I wanna give to you Let The Rip find you Every time aia take a breath If only I could remind you Feelin alright As a breeze blows up Keep it on the air Carefree Not to take or leave And not try to hold it Never been a one to take a step back When the clouds come in Keep it up Keep it out Move it on with a flow You’re there And you can begin Walkin downtown Feelin alright A bit of carefree Take a breather

There’s something quite peculiar and right As a fairy beats her fists against a wall For it did not let shine through the light It just stood there throwing out darkness And it was smooth and hard And repelled all her strokes It wouldn’t take her shimmer or her glow And nothing could talk her out of it She was bent on breaking through Let her go CHORUS : Once was counterpart now lost to night Holding on with memories Till you come back to me Some kind of nature took its course I’ve got a thread I’m hanging from I won’t let you cut me free There’s a strange kind of beauty In knocking on a door When its thick cold iron and brass With a small flesh fist You know he wants to come out But he’s lost his own keys in the dark And he’s probably half blind But he’s heard your call And there’s that knocking sound again Oh he can’t let you in Even if he opens a tiny crack He’d lose everything REPEAT CHORUS Well she had to turn away And with her head hung low She resolved to return with a note It could fit under the door And she’d write the letters large Slip it underneath unfolded I never wanted to give you Your worst dread The fear that played on silent in the back of your head I never wanted to be on the other side of this I never wanted to be It was not our plan I never wanted to be anything but there with you But here I am Here I am It was just a simple note that she wrote.

It’s the same breeze The same cool of the air The same feel of the sky And colour of the leaves I walk down these stairs Take in the same view Freedom to transport me Here you come sweet memory Seems like only yesterday Our new world had just begun With the same soft breeze Same warmth of the air And feel of the sky Oh, you come back to me There was an ending You’re not here anymore Do you see me like I see you My friend, it happened again It’s the same air The same time of the year Same blue of the sky And sound of the leaves I walk down this path With steps the same speed Finding space and shapes of us Here you come sweet memory All these things from yesterday Making the world when we began The same fallen leaves The same cool crisp air And blue of the sky Oh, but you’re not really here After the ending I think I heard you call Do you feel me like I feel you Oh my friend, how I miss you.

We were an engine And the makers of a storm I don’t want you coming round here I don’t want you on the phone I don’t want a letter from you Telling me that it’s alright I don’t want you sneaking up Surprises in the street Tryin’ to be my all-weather girl When it’s plain to see You’re just the maker of a storm CHORUS: We were an engine I loved you more than anything Now your silence is a vacuum It draws me to you constantly Guess I’d like to see you sometimes I kinda wish you’d call up The letter box is empty again Wondering if you’ll ever write Guess you might sneak up on me Walking down the street Take me on for loving or a fight You were my all weather girl And the maker of a storm REPEAT CHORUS BRIDGE: Resistance Persistence Opposites attract Water doesn’t leave the earth And the storm will not break us We were an engine And the makers of a storm

Unwind You 03:59
The wind is blowing in the same direction With the same force and speed The only sound that I can hear Is the rustling of the sidewalk leaves When will we laugh about it When will there be a right time When will we look back And know it was alright When will we talk about Separate times gone by When will we cast our gaze back to this place And when will we be able to say it was just fine Your path across mine I’ll walk the long way ‘round Try to make time move again Oh my searching restless mind Trying hoping wanting Just to unwind you.

Oh, to find the answer to it Some way to make the pieces fit Clear space and freedom Clear space, enough to think Why does the girl not take control Is there any answer to it Why does the girl not take control Is there any answer I had a feeling that you’d been lost You took some time to return And in the place that you’d been gone Was there any answer there You took it to the mountains Took it to the ocean And you flung it on the breeze Why does the girl not take control She found the one That she’d looked long for Made the pieces fit Gave the answer yes She’d never even dared to dream he could exist And when she found herself at his door She gave away the rest.

about

Once upon a time there was a guitar player who exits this story right here and now and is never heard from again. But out of that really short story comes this story.....This EP is what happens when 2 people who had never met in person until the bulk of these songs were finished decided to have a go at collaborating over the interwebs as COVID started rearing it's head in early 2020.....Music was written as mists, rain and even a day or 2 of rare snow swirled through trees in a hilly Katoomba street in the Blue Mountains and then found its way down the mountains and into the inner city of Sydney where lyrics and vocals fleshed out those tracks into the collection of songs you find here. There are wry tales of relationships going "tits up" to use a time honoured Australian expression, there are whispers of moons and storms and fairies and wistful remembrances of those who have left this world for the next.
And the cat who came back? Well there's a story to him too. One night a cat was rescued after he tangled himself up in chicken wire and hung himself. He was just barely alive after being found in the dead of the night but ever since that day he has decided to make the front yard of a certain bass player's Blue Mountains house his home away from home.....

about

Cat Came Back Sydney, Australia

When Bandcamp first featured us they described us like this - "This Australian duo excel at writing glitchy bedroom pop songs, ornamented with twinkling keys", so that's us apparently....
Ourselves, we'd probably tell you we're an experimental pop duo from Sydney Australia with one foot (Gina) in the city and the other (Graeme) up in the Blue Mountains.
